Toxic Fog, as the name suggests, is fog that is toxic. When inside of the toxic clouds, the player will slowly lose their health little by little. The player knows they're affected because the character will cough and wheeze.
Toxic Fog also acts as a hinder in Hamlyn Village, for if the player goes into the fog their sound will be up to max, meaning that any nearby bobbies will be able to hear them and go investigate.
The way to avoid the negative effects of Toxic Fog is to wear a Gas Mask, note that the mask will only degrade when inside of fog. And simply running through as quick as possible won't do any immediate harm.
History[]
Origins of the toxic fog can be traced back to Haworth Labs, when Anton urged the workers to send waste materials and bad batches of Joy into the river. This ultimately caused the water to be polluted and toxic fog to rise from sewers.
Similar fog can be found all around Ratholm, though it isn't toxic.
Trivia[]
- Toxic Fog may be a reference to the real life London Fog that occurred as early as 1200, and killed approximately 12,000 people in the 1950's to 1960's.
- It's very possible that Foggy Jack was created as a way to make Wellies steer clear of the fog, claiming that the reason people were being found dead by the fog was because of the killer, and not the fog itself.

Old Content[]
Toxic Fog was implemented in the Early Access 27755 build of We Happy Few, and appeared in both the Garden District and Hamlyn Village.
The fog itself was much smaller, and had a murky yellow colour instead of the bright green as seen in the final game.
It was possible for the Toxic Fog to reach inside of houses in Hamlyn Village, though the player wouldn't experience any of the effects if they stood within it.
