Lionel Castershire (pronounced 'Cash-ear') is the shopkeeper of the Odds & Ends Shop in Wellington Wells, encountered during We Happy Few.
His specialty involves taking otherwise useless items and modifying them for a new purpose. It's also said that he sells valuable collectors items to special people on his customer list. His shop is ideal if the player is in need of gadgets, outfits or other useful items.
Appearance[]
Lionel Castershire is a middle-aged man who wears large round glasses, a green apron over a white shirt and a sun hat. He has a small moustache over his Happy Face Mask, brown hair and blue eyes.
Events of We Happy Few[]
Act I[]
If the player talks to Lionel, he'll ask the player to retrieve three golden records from Lud's Holm in the Garden District. After giving him the records, Lionel gives Arthur a book in return.
Lionel will then ask Arthur to steal back a solid marble cat statue from the Thomasina House, after it was stolen from a woman named Sarah. After the cat has been returned, Lionel will make one final request: standing as a replacement guard while the red bobby is out.
Plough Boys will enter the shop to cause trouble. After they've been dealt with, the player is rewarded with a Multi-Tool, which replaces the Lockpick and is able to disarm wired traps.
Act II[]
Sally visits Lionel to replace the milk broken by Spud Murphy, but Lionel is hesitant. Milk has become an incredibly rare item due to the dwindling food supply in Wellington Wells, but he agrees to trade some in exchange for some special Uncle Jack records from the Garden District.
When Sally returns with the records, Lionel gives her ten boxes of powdered milk. Later in the story, she'll ask Lionel to make her a 'bird feeder' and a 'chemical bag'.
Act III[]
Upon speaking with Lionel, he will ask Ollie to retrieve an 'unremarkable' taxidermied dog from Colonel Lawrence's house. After the dog is given to Lionel, he asks Ollie to get him three onyx cat statues from the Thomasina House, for the same collector who wanted the dog. Ollie is given a book as a reward for his troubles.
The player also has to beat up Lionel's red bobby for one of the quests with the Shady Dealer, who claims Lionel is stealing his wares.
Trivia[]
- Lionel is a questioner in Oh, Behave! during Arthur's rehabilitation test in Act I.
- Strangely, his voice actor seems to change between cutscenes and normal gameplay. During Oh, Behave!, Act II and III, his voice actor is Joe Sims, but in Act I (after the test) he's voiced by Simon Peacock.
- If the player decides to talk to Lionel after completing the Shady Dealer's quest, he'll ask Ollie if he knows what's happened to his bobby, to which Ollie will deny any knowledge.
