Health is one of the basic measurements in We Happy Few that displays how physically hurt the player is.
It is also an Inventory selection that contains all items that restore the player's overall health. These items are generally medicinal and include bandages, kits, ointments, and liquids.
Overview[]
The player's health is not displayed on screen at all times, instead it only shows up when the player has lost any percentage of health for any reason.
The player can lose health during combat, from status effects, or falling from places really high up. Status effects such as Bleeding and Burning will cause the player's health to deplete over time, and effects like Infection cause the player's max health to get cut by a certain percentage.
When all of the player's health is gone, they'll enter the dying stage, in which they have a minute and 30 seconds to use a healing item before dying completely. The player will die faster if they're being continuously hit by enemies, or bleeding out.
If the player falls from a place too high up, or into the water surrounding the islands, they will not enter the dying stage and will instead die instantaneously. The cause of the player's death is stated in their obituary.
Healing items can be used safely in the player's inventory as the game is paused whilst looking through it. However, the player cannot craft anything when they're in combat, so it's best to have at least one or two healing items in their inventory at all times.
All health items are craftable.
