Harry Plantagenet is a prisoner of Dr. Verloc and unwilling test subject in his experiments. He's kept locked up in Haworth Labs with Harry Haworth and Gemma Olsen. Due to being inflicted with tests of Coconut Joy, Harry has gone insane, believing himself to be the rightful King of England.

Arthur can hear him yelling "The King Awakes! The King Awakes! The King Awakes!" if he decides to set off the Coconut Joy test formula in his cell, trying his best not to laugh.

Buff EasilyForgotten Appearance[]

Harry's appearance is random on every playthrough.

Buff TypicallyBritish History[]

Although little is said about Harry, he's listed among those who are banned from the Jacobean Society Club.

He was admitted into the Labs on the 23rd of June, 1964. From what is seen of his behaviour, he appears to be manic, delusional, and narcissistic, likely in part due to his heavy intake of the Coconut Joy testing formula. He also has a tendency to bite, and the "caretakers" are allowed to restrain or tranquilize him.

In the How to be Happy: Guide Book, Harry Plantagenet is said to be of royal descent. Both Harry and Clive Birtwhistle enjoy tracing their family's genealogy, and, according to Harry, “It does give one such a sense of pride to have been born to the right sort!”. They are also co-presidents of The Rose Society, a gardening club with no garden because they cannot agree on whether to plant red or white roses.

Buff Conformist Trivia[]

  • His name references the House of Plantagenet, a royal house originated from Anjou, France. In particular, he seems to have been named after King Henry II, "Harry" being a common nickname for "Henry". England was transformed under the Plantagenets, as the kings were often forced to negotiate compromises. The family held the English throne from 1154 until 1485, when Richard III died in battle and Henry VII of the House of Tudor came to power instead.
  • Inside his cell is a diagram explaining why he's the king and why other kings were weaker. Writing on the wall reading "17 GENERATIONS", "PLANTAGENET TRUE KINGS!!!" "HENRY VI TUDOR USURPERS", "FAT DIVORCER", "GIRLS" (crossed out), "STEWARDS OFF WITH HIS HEAD!'', "FILTHY COMMONERS", "COUSIN BUMPING GITS!", "RESTORATION WANKERS", "WEAK WILLED DANDY PRICKS!" and "GERMAN FAKERS".
