"You know Dr. Faraday? If the likes of me asked her she'd probably zap me with one of her satanic devices!"
— Hardy to Sally

Corporal Hardy is a home army solider, only found in Act II of We Happy Few. He's in charge of fixing the General's Bristol Pilot in the boat house.

Overview[]

Hardy was a joiner at first, someone who constructs the wooden components of a building, such as stairs, doors, and door/window frames. To General Byng, this made him the perfect man to repair his boat, as he knows no one else has the knowledge.

The other soldiers are well aware that Hardy has hardly any knowledge about boats either.

Events of We Happy Few[]

Act II[]

Sally finds Hardy by the boat in the boat house, in which he happily exclaims he patched it up so it won't leak in water, but that the motor has rusted solid and won't start without Byng's boat key. Sally makes up a spontaneous lie to make it seem like she has knowledge in boats, which Hardy believes.

Soon afterwards, Sally suggests getting Dr. Faraday to build a brand new boat motor for him, which Hardy agrees with, stating "Won't the General be surprised!"

Trivia[]

  • The word Hardy means robust; capable of enduring difficult conditions.
    • Hardy is also a name of German origin meaning "Bold, Brave"
