Buff StalwartBasic Objectives[]

Buff EarsToTheGround In-Game Description[]

He wasn't always like... that.

Was he?

You'd know, if anyone. You married the man.

I wonder, did all his words ever amount to anything? Or did it just take this long for the mask to slip?

I have to believe they did, even if it were a long, long time ago. And that whatever sense of duty I have came from that version of the man I knew.

If not, then where from?

I can use Johnny's bombs to end this once and for all. Er... if the manor's still standing, that is.

Buff TrackStar Walkthrough[]

After exiting the prison, head down the stairs before reaching the toxic waste. Jump to the platform, turn around, then run and jump towards the cones. Go to the left and swing up on the ledge above.

Drop down on the objects below and then the ground, sneak over to the other side when the bobby isn't looking. Swing up on the ledge above.

Walk over the planks to the other side, walk behind the Detector TV before dropping off by the stairs, wait for the Bobby to search by the Downer TV before climbing up on the crate and going over the fence. Sneak up to the window on the left and climb through it.

Go forth and climb through the other window, sneak up behind the bobby beating the dead wastrel, and choke him out. Go up the stairs and swing up to the roof above, follow the pipes and get a running start before jumping off and swinging to the other side mid-air.

Continue forward until reaching a building with an open window to the right, climb through it. After the cutscene, go forward and climb through the window, press the button to lower the elevator.

Four plague wastrels will aggro onto Victoria when she's on the ground, when they're defeated, continue forward before turning right and go down the alleyway. The player is now in the sewers with more plague wastrels.

Jump over and onto the platforms to reach the other side, turn left and go through the corridor. Even if the player sneaks, there's going to be a wastrel on the left that screams, giving away the player's position to the other plague wastrel.

Continue downstairs and jump on top of the platforms, avoiding the toxic water. Fight the plague wastrels, and continue forth. When the player finds themselves underneath the bridge, crouch and head into the hole on the left, go forward before heading up the stairs on the left, at the top, turn left and head back to the Bridle Path.

This ends the quest.

Never Mind Your Happiness[]

Open/Close

Victoria: Father??

Robert: I suppose children must burn their hands before they can believe that stoves are hot.

Victoria: The cell door...?

Robert: I hope you'll be sensible from now on. I have only so many strings I can pull.

Victoria: I'm so sorry, Father, I thought people would come to their senses.

Robert: Well, I hope you learned your lesson.

Robert: Listen, I have a safe house. Provisions for a year. Invisible from the street. We'll ride out the storm there.

Victoria: You've been stockpiling food?

Victoria: People are starving! We have a duty --

Robert: Our duty now... is to rescue what we can. Salvage something from this whole rotten mess. Even if it's only two or three people.

Victoria: Someone has to save them.

Robert: I'm getting my boat working. If I can get to Ireland...

Maharajkumari: His duty is to save himself!

Robert: I have to go. Duty insists.

Maharajkumari: "Duty's not always pretty..."

Robert: Duty's not always pretty. You don't always get a bright, shiny medal --

Victoria: You're deserting!

Robert: You obviously can't show your face until people forget!

Victoria: Coward!

Victoria's Duty[]

Open/Close

Victoria: What then must we do?

Maharajkumari: "Before Brahma can create a new universe, Shiva must destroy the old one."

Victoria: You saw what happened! One half of the town will kill the other half - I might as well be murdering them myself!

Maharajkumari: Would you rather murder half the town, or let all of them commit suicide by starvation? Because those are your choices.

Victoria: They won't see it that way, they'll hate me!

Maharajkumari: Oh yes! Beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Victoria: But God help me, I can do no other.

Buff Conformist Trivia[]

  • The name of the quest may be a reference to the 1963 American war film, "The Great Escape".
  • Plague Wastrels can write, as seen on the wall in the corridor, it says Hwæt! Feond un helle. Swa fela fyrena. Feorhseoc Which roughly translates into Why! Fiend from hell. So much torment. Mortally wounded.
