Gingham is the name of a Memory in Act Il of We Happy Few.
Location[]
At the park where Sally and Arthur meet up in the Garden District, above the slide.
Overview[]
Mrs. Boyle tries to get Sally to wear a green gingham dress to keep away the wrong sort of attention from men.
Transcript[]
Sally: "You can't expect me to wear that!"
Mrs. Boyle: "Since when did you care about fashion? I thought that was only for "silly" girls?"
Sally: "For god's sake, gingham? I'll look like Hansel and Gretel."
Mrs. Boyle: "You've been looking a bit too... provocative."
Sally: "Provocative! I don't even wear a bra yet!"
Mrs. Boyle: "Maybe you should. We don't want men to get the wrong idea about you."
Sally: "First I'm not doing enough to get a man, now I'm trying too hard?"
Mrs. Boyle: "Just wear the dress, will you? It'll keep away the wrong sort of attention."
Trivia[]
- It can be assumed that this is the same gingham dress Sally wore when she ran away from where the Hastings lived.
