Buff Conformist Trivia[]

  • The Gas Mask seems to be based on the British P44 Mk. II Lightweight Respirator.
  • Joy Doctors were planned to wear a gas mask that resembled that of a plague doctor's mask.
  • There is another type of gas mask in the game, known as the Better Gas Mask, that is only accessible through console commands.

Gas Masks have been in the game since the Pre-Alpha 17956 build.

Buff TechFriendly Overview[]

Since there was no Toxic Fog at the time, Gas Masks were exclusively used to protect the player from the Joy Gas inside the bridge leading to The City.

In the 27755 Early Access Build, Toxic Fog was added, although it wasn't too dangerous. The player needed to have the Gas Mask on hand in order to fully escape, however, as there was toxic gas enveloping the last island that'd drain their health very quickly.

It took up four slots in the player's inventory, and it had to be placed in the player's quickslot in order to be used.

In the 27755 Early Access build, it took up two slots instead of four.
