Cricket bats are light melee weapons in We Happy Few.

Overview[]

Cricket bats are good mid-game weapons. They have long range, swing incredibly fast, degrade very slowly, and can hit multiple targets at the same time with the Chain Sweep skill. The playable character will hold the bat with both their hands, and swing it broadly to hit their target.

Cricket bats can be wielded by both Wellies and Wastrels.

The less effective variant is called the Flimsy Cricket Bat.

Appearance[]

The bat consists a short handle wrapped in thread, which is attached to a long, double-edged wooden block known as the blade.

Trivia[]

  • The Pub and the Odds & Ends Shop have a cricket bat framed above the staff door.
  • The wooden blade has 'Iron Duke' engraved on it, along with three stars. This is likely a reference to Douglas Jardine, a cricket player for England that was nicknamed 'The Iron Duke'.
    • The term 'Iron Duke' was originally the nickname for Arthur Wellesley
    • The three British Royal Navy ships launched between 1870 to 1991 were also called 'HMS Iron Duke'.
    • The blade also has 'Product of Courtland Inc. London', 'Patent Reinforced IOF No. 35726D4', and 'Middlesex & England' engraved.

Old Content[]

Cricket bats have been in the game since the Pre-Alpha 11219 build.

Overview[]

The cricket bat was, at the time, one of the most powerful weapons the player could wield.

It took up 6 slots in the player's inventory and could only be placed upright. Weapons could not be placed in the player's quickslot.
