Containers are searchable objects in We Happy Few, found all throughout Wellington Wells.

All containers can have items within that are useful for the player's journey.

Function[]

ContainerSearchExample

Searchable containers have a white outline and a prompt, labeled "Search (container name)".

After searching the container, the player will be able to see the items within, in which they're given two or three new prompts; to open the object's inventory, take all the items from the container, or close the container, leaving the items behind.

NPCs cannot open containers.

Loot[]

The loot within containers are completely randomized, and will be generated the moment the player prompts the search. There aren't actually any items within the container until the player opens it. Searched containers will not spawn any new items, unless they are outdoors objects like Waste Bins, Rubbish Piles or Postboxes, to name a few.

1-6 individual items can appear within one container, each with varying stack size. All containers have unlimited storage, so the player can store anything and everything inside a container.

Different containers will store different items. Coin Boxes and Safes contain Sovereigns, Fridges and Stoves contain Food, Dressers and Crates contain Crafting Components, etc. More information about what items a container can spawn is listed on their respective pages.

Locks[]

Sometimes a container will be locked, requiring the player to use an item from their inventory in order to unlock the locked container. Items used to unlock containers include Lockpicks, Disposable Safe Crackers, Electro-Lock Shockers, and Jimmy Bars.

The Multi-Tool, compared to a regular lockpick, does not degrade.

Trivia[]

  • In earlier builds of We Happy Few, Berry and Flower bushes used to function exactly like other containers, "containing" berries and flowers within the bush, as opposed to being easily picked off of the bush.
    • This was changed in the Life in Technicolour update.
