Axes are heavy melee weapons in We Happy Few.

Buff TechFriendly Overview[]

The Axe is a very good early to mid game weapon. It has medium range, swings somewhat slowly, runs out of durability slowly, and can hit multiple targets at a time with the Chain Sweep skill.

The playable character will hold the Axe with their right hand, and swing it broadly to hit their target. The weapon can be charged in exchange for much of the player's stamina to deal a lot of damage.

The Axe is wielded mainly by Wellies, and Wastrels wield the weapon in Act III.

Buff EasilyForgotten Appearance[]

The axe has a long, dark wooden handle with an iron head. It is not a hatchet, as hatches have a shorter handle.

Buff Conformist Trivia[]

  • The Axe can't be used to cut trees, because tree cutting is not a feature in the game.
  • During the Lightbearer DLC, in the second part of the campaign, there is an axe stuck to one of the hotel doors. This is a reference to The Shining.

Buff TechFriendly Overview[]

The Axe was a powerful weapon that was very rare to come by, seemingly only spawning in chests.

No NPCs wielded the weapon.

It took up 2 slot in the player's inventory and could only be placed upright. Weapons could not be placed in the player's quickslot.
